What We Do
The North Bay Local Immigration Partnership is a community-based partnership that:
Fosters a systematic approach to engage Service Provider Organizations, local institutions, and other community partners to integrate newcomers.
Supports community-based knowledge-sharing and local strategic planning
Improves coordination of effective services that facilitate immigrant settlement and integration
Vision.
North Bay and area will be a community that values and benefits from cultural diversity, thus strengthening our economic growth and development.
Mission.
The NBLIPs mission is to achieve our vision by:
Working collaboratively with community partners and employers to create and implement innovative strategies to attract, retain and integrate newcomers to North Bay,
Increasing community awareness that the transformation associated with diversity must be expected and embraced.
Values.
Our operating values include:
We commit to being inclusive in process and action, and in engaging local stakeholders with an intentional emphasis on the participation of newcomers
We will be responsive to newcomers’ experiences of belonging, as well as the community's changing needs
We encourage and support new ideas and innovation to enhance the newcomer experience
We recognize the inherent value of newcomers
We will be intentional in recognizing and addressing systemic barriers impacting newcomers
**Please note that the NBLIP do not provide direct services to newcomers (i.e. settlement services). Rather, the NBLIP seeks to increase the absorptive capacity of our community by engaging a range of stakeholders, enhancing collaboration and taking a leadership role in the development of community-level strategic planning to meet its mandate.
